A Car Took Me There
Been doing a lot of driving lately, so it’s only natural that some of my photos are taken from the car. Here are a few from an unfinished set I’ve been working on.
My scanner doesn’t like film anymore, so I have to scan prints – luckily I usually get prints.
I’m gradually going through a large bag of expired colour print film I got for nothing several months ago. It’s been a nice change from black and white, plus I like the random colour casts that can happen depending on the type of film and how its been treated. This unknown factor increases the enjoyment for me personally, even though the occasional shot is lost in the process.

Arran,
Hi Arran!
I really like your blog, even though your posts have slowed down a bit.. I’m a fellow OM system geek, and really like the articles you’ve done on Olympus stuff. I’m also interested in Voigtlander cameras and like what you’ve written.
I have been curious for some time about the Bessa side grip, and whether it would fit on an OM-1. I think the lack of a side-grip on this camera may be the only drawback to its design. Have you ever tried it?
I really hope you feel inspired to get back to shooting soon; I have dry periods too when it seems impossible to pick up the camera. I recently rode my bike to a desolate spot near my house and shot a roll of Tri-X right around sunset. The pictures were great, and it got me shooting again!
Thanks for the information, Arran!

Hey Mate
Deftone2k off OCAU just having a squiz at your blog.. you should keep updating it you have some good content on here (and articles are actually enjoyable to read!)
I noticed… that silver XB Coupe in the photo above got stolen 🙁
Was a friend of mines, they tilt trayed it from his house at Ashfield and he worked at the Bob Jane Tmarts (im guessing thats the intersection of Parramatta Rd and Sloane St)
So.. you have captured a little piece of history, its been chopped by now and never recovered!
Just thought I would share some meaning behind one of your shots.

Wow. Ok, this is definitely the same car. I’m sorry to hear it was stolen. Can’t believe some people could just steal something like that. It was a terrific looking car, had a real sense of “presence” even when stationary.
Thanks for the positive comments, they’re very much appreciated. I’ve been too busy to post up until quite recently, but have now reclaimed some spare time which will allow me to start posting again. Just installed a new “light” theme also. Cheers
Hi Kevin, thanks for your comments. It’s comforting to hear from someone else who suffers from the OM addiction aswell, Oh, I think the Bessa grip does actually fit the OM1, but I’ll confirm and post back later just to be sure. Such a simple attachment makes a big difference indeed. Have fun with the Tri-X!
